Are You Ready for Change?
Life changes and develops every day. Are we truly comfortable facing it? Are you experiencing shifts at work, in life or in relationships? Do you feel you are changing too quickly to recognise yourself, or too slowly to keep up with a constantly changing society?

Feeling out of control is common during these periods. We assume life will run smoothly, we can control everything and life should be fair. When reality differs, it can bring considerable stress and pain.
How can we become comfortable with change and welcome it as an opportunity to mature and grow? Explore this with Me&We.
Are You Making These Assumptions?
I need to control my life and keep everything within reach.
Life must be fair.
I must live the right way.
When I control everything, happiness will come.
If I am good, good things will come—work, relationships and money.
If something unwanted happens, something must be wrong with me.
I am changing positively, so I must adapt immediately.
Such thoughts leave us vulnerable to disappointment when change arrives without warning.
To become comfortable with change, first understand that life is not always fair. Bad things happen to anyone, and we cannot control every situation. What we can take charge of is our own response and perspective.
Many believe we create everything in our lives. How do we reconcile this with a reality sometimes beyond our control?
Everyone has their own answer. We still shape reality by choosing what we want and taking steps towards it. Instead of controlling everything, focus on adjusting your understanding, actions and responses. This balances directing life with allowing it to unfold naturally.
How to Become Comfortable with Change
With every change, large or small, you gradually let go of something from the past. Feeling loss is normal.
Even positive changes, such as a new job or a committed relationship, require time to become familiar with new experiences and leave old habits behind.
Do not force immediate adaptation. Be patient with yourself.
Change needs time to settle into your life. Feeling unsteady between old and new is entirely normal. Allow yourself these feelings so you can move forward stronger.
Where Can You Begin?
Here are suggestions to help you adapt:
List 20 important things in your life. Recognising core values helps you find direction amid change.
List the 20 things you most enjoy. Focus on what fills you with energy and optimism.
Spend a few minutes each day answering:
‘What do I want?’
‘Who do I want to become?’
‘Who am I right now?’
Write down and visualise how you want life to look after the change. This provides direction and confidence in the future.

As you build self-trust and see positive changes, you may find change less frightening, even welcome it with joy and excitement. Each change is an opportunity to approach the life you want.
